Kybella and PCDC

Kybella by Allergan is the first treatment that’s FDA-approved to reduce moderate to severe fat under the chin known as submental fullness or a double chin. The active ingredient is deoxycholic acid, a substance that is naturally produced by the body and helps assist in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.

When injected under the chin, Kybella breaks down fat cells, which the body eliminates through the natural metabolic processes. Once destroyed, the fat cells are gone for good, reducing the fullness under the chin and delivering a more contoured, sculpted jawline.

PCDC, on the other hand, is a generic form of Kybella. The compounded solution includes a mix of phosphatidylcholine and sodium deoxycholate, a bile salt that helps remove waste from the body. PCDC works similarly to Kybella by breaking down fat cells, but it also promotes the production of new collagen, which can help tighten the skin around the treated areas. Unlike Kybella, which is used solely to treat fat under the chin, PCDC is versatile and can address various areas of the body where fat deposits accumulate, like the double chin, abdomen, back area, waist, thighs, hips, and love handles.
